ABOUT ME

KSUSHA FEDYA

My focus project called “attention! altars” which expresses the study of different cultures, customs, and rituals, a physiological interest in one’s own tactility, and observations of people, objects, and their spatial interaction.

As part of the “altar” project, I continue to create utilitarian objects that can serve as “cabinet-type” sculptures, objects for performative practices, and also can be scaled up to the format of land art.

attention! altars

SERIES

attention! altars — are ceramic modern secular shrines and accessories for incense and candles. Altars are “cabinet-type” sculptures,  a place of power invironment, as well as an elegant organizer for amulets, artifacts, memories and sacred attributes. It is a power place in an apartment, garden, restaurant or other public location. The interior items of attention! altars are handmade by artist Ksusha Fedya. Each object has its own texture, shape, and color variation within the series. The objects contain sacred meanings of everyday life and the aesthetics of traditional rituals from different corners of the world.

ROOTS

The series of works presents a modern interpretation of household items from Slavic fairy tales — chests with gems and natural stones, carvings and objects in the form of clay toys. Here, there is also a personal interpretation of the meanings and aesthetics of the 'Red Corner'.

STONE

The series of works combines objects made of ceramic with earthy tones and limited glaze in natural colors. The shrines visually resemble sculptures made of stone that have been subjected to the elements for a long time.

DOWN TO EARTH

The series of works is a tribute to natural textures and colors, and includes sculptures that resemble objects found underfoot. The cyclical nature of nature is constant, and these objects are transformed and remain unchanged over time.
